Key Holders – in memoriam of Spac Prison
The Spaç Prison, known for its rich history and the events that took place in this place of escape, will be featured in a special craft window, which will bring back the historical and unique spirit of this place through a simple but deeply authentic. This model is closely intertwined with the history of the prison grounds, highlighting the heritage and events that took place there. The idea behind this concept is to raise awareness of the importance of preserving cultural heritage and the environment through the recycling of used materials. This special initiative aims to create a deep connection between the past and the present, bringing back to life materials that have a special history of their own.
To realize this concept, old and damaged materials, which in themselves haunt the history of the prison, will be used to create a special souvenir. The stones of the former prison structure will be reused to create key chains, transforming them into functional objects used in everyday life. Pieces of bricks from destroyed buildings and broken stones (all around the prison environment) will be carefully processed by local artisans, who will skillfully and passionately create small pieces from them.
These materials will be processed in an artisanal way in order to form parts and shapes of different dimensions (3x4cm, 4x5 cm, etc., but also with irregular shapes) and then through copper wires, they will be connected with a metal clip that will make the connection between the object and the switches or bag.
The various shapes and dimensions of the stones will be carefully treated and processed to create unique and attractive pendants. Using copper wires to connect stones and objects will bring a warm and authentic feel, while metal clips will maintain a functional role. This simple but refined model is intended to serve as a way to preserve and remember the history of the Spaç prison, but also to express care for the environment and awareness of sustainability. The souvenir produced by this model is not just a material item, but a message that draws attention to historical, aesthetic and environmental values.
This initiative brings to life a rare piece of historical heritage in a new way, taking it beyond the prison walls and making it an everyday part of the life and memory of the Spaç community.
